What is the practical assessment for the RSA course?

The RSA practical assessment is either a Video Assessment or an Observer Report. Victoria requires a video assessment only.

Updated over a month ago

The RSA practical assessment requires you to demonstrate responsible service of alcohol skills. There are two ways to complete it:

  1. Video Assessment: Record yourself completing practical tasks using a device with a webcam and microphone. Required for anyone new to the industry, and for all students in Victoria.

  2. Observer Report: If you've been working in the industry for some time and have a supervisor or manager who has observed you serving alcohol within the last 12 months, you may wish to choose the Observer Report option. This means an online form will be emailed to your chosen observer to provide more information on the tasks they've seen you do.

Note: RSA Victoria students must complete the Video Assessment. Observer Reports are not accepted for RSA Victoria certification.
